Dear Members,
I am sorry to hear about the sad demise of Sri Malwad. I had known him since his days at TIFR Library as its Chief Librarian and later when he had joined IISC. Library. He was a close friend of mine and we had had continuous interaction in library matters of mutual interest.
I wish to offer my deep condolences to the members of the bereaved family.

He left for heavenly abode on 15th, October, 2009 at 09:30AM. His sad demise is a great loss to the LIS Profession. As we all know, he had a very distinguished career heading TIFR and IISc Library and a rare distinction of working on INIS system in its initial stages. He was instrumental in setting up of several organizations including INFLIBNET. He was Invited by the UGC to work on a Special Committee formed for preparing a Project Report on INFILBNET and worked as the core member in preparing and finalizing Report on INFLIBNET. He is fondly remembered for his lively and scholarly talks and his human approach to help any body. It is a great personal loss to me and my family. We pray God to rest the departed Soul in Peace.
