National Institute of Fashion Technology has International Collaborations and Memoranda of Understanding with prestigious foreign Institutions and Universities like Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, IFM Paris and Nottingham Trend University , United Kingdom. As seen in my earlier jobs/assignments I have had a rare distinction and opportunity for planning and organizing new Library and Information Centres. My earlier experience in Planning and Organizing new Library and Information Centres helped me in taking this challenge of Planning, Collection Development and Initiating Library and Information Documentation Services for NIFT Hyderabad. Libraries– the millennia old institutions have been reinventing themselves indifferent ways with the onset of new technologies and paradigms. Thelatest buzz phrase in the technology front is "Web 2.0". Leveragingthe approaches typified by Web 2.0's principles and technology offerslibrary profession many opportunities to transform libraries fromvenerated age-old institutions to agile ones.The term Library 2.0 has been adopted by a growing group of libraries,librarians and information professionals to recalibrate the processesand the paradigms of the library and information services. This newmodel of library is all about amalgamation of – Ajaz, Apollo, WebStandards, User Centric Design, RSS, Blogs, Wikis, Mashups, Tagging,Folksonomies and so on into library and information services. Library2.0 is not just a technology or a thing but a new paradigm and a stateof mind. The heart of Library 2.0 is user-centred change. It is amodel that encourages constant and purposeful change, inviting userparticipation.The Conference will be a forum for discussing the emerging processes,technologies and paradigms of the library profession in the backdropof the new technology of Web 2.0 and efforts to integrate the sameinto the library services.
