A librarian writes to C'ba and Vicky,
My darlings,
This lonely dad this sunday takes to writing not knowing what to do.  Dears when I slept lasty night i fixed the alarm at 7.00am but you know that, I got up before the alarm ri9ngs at about 6.00am.  A huge and whole sunday infront of me.  Listened to morning news, hjad a cup of tea using amulya, cleaned utensils and then rolled back under blanket for a nap again.  It5 was 7.00am when i opened my eyes. I thought, yes it was time to wake up.  At times it so happens that we are so busy in so many things small and big , important and unimportant.......hours roll down........at the end of the day you that feel that nothing substantial was done and it is already evening and the same thing happened today.  Let me tell you what I did : immedfiately after waking up prepared a cup of tea and had it with parle G and read newspaper, had a morning walk, shampooved the hair and had a nice bath after shaving. and this is waht I did since morning.  I wanted to finalise my Research Proposal,  I wanted to conclude a book review.........nothing of this sort happened.  I was so busy.....but in thinking., listening to BBC news., standing in the balcony seeing people go around on the road below.

But let me tell you,   it was a wonderful sunday today this day in Bhubaneswarl.  You know at times you have to just flow with your thoughts........do things as they happen.....while away your time as per spontaneity of your thoughts.....dont put dead lines ....be yourself......listen to music......sleep.....and in between dream.........build castles in the air........ you know this kind of Sunday and holidaying is real break.  This is the best way of brewaking the monotony and routines.......... As real rest to your mind happens this way.  When I was reading....."Times of India (Open SPace - page 7.....i found a small write up by Nita Mehta of Jipur, she has nicel;y summed up the meaning and relevance of digital cleansing......a term mooted by John Mayer...... a musician, tweeter and an avid blogger.  His new year resolution was to keep off all digital contraptions........wheich meant he would not email, would not get on to his social newtworks.  W, would not blog and surf.  This is termed as "digital cleanse"....... I dont know how relevant is this term suitable for the meaning that he is assigning to this new found word.  John Mayers idea behind mooting this term is be health crazy, take rest.......unplug....come out and meet people.  This really a good guide for th those who are addicted to computer like Vicky.  Indeed it is worthy to be clinging to system from morning to evening.........we should be realistic, we should meet people, friends......play . Am I right Vicky? Computers and internet connect us to the world.......people all over the world instantly.  What about those of us who are yet to be  hooked up with hte net and ystems.  and be at large with the people of the world in a relative sense.  Bye for now and kids.....let me get back to you again on another sunday or holiday with another exercise of idling.  Be happy......be smiling........be idle sometimes......it is good for health.......be smart. Say hi to your mummy......

He was instrumental in setting up of several organizations including INFLIBNET. He was Invited by the UGC to work on a Special Committee formed for preparing a Project Report on INFILBNET and worked as the core member in preparing and finalizing Report on INFLIBNET. Who is Responsible...............

Since long we have been witnessing and subsequently discussing regarding the downfall trend of LIS profession and professionals. Despite of blessed with ICT tools, LIS profession is not able to cope up with need of the users coming from the cross-sections of the society. Every next second we are getting a new e-query regarding very basic services supposed to be performed by the person in charge. What are the reasons of this situation that every new recruitee is find him in a soup and try to make every best possible effort to find out the answers of very basic nature questions? The reason may be any one of the following……………
1. LIS Curricula is not updated enough so that a student can have the latest and up-to-date knowledge of practical environment.
2. Do the learned faculties are not getting required time and proper infrastructures to keep update themselves?
3. Are the students now a days are interested only to getting a degree by using any of the means so that they can decorate their C.V.s
4. Does the new entrants feared to take challenges and not capable to convert their theoretical knowledge in practical terms?
5. Does the govt is only interested only in framing the hard core policies and setting up certain working groups to evaluate the situation?
6. What are the major roles of reputed Associations in this profession are they just limiting themselves by organizing seminars and workshops from time to time.
In the light of above queries, who is responsible for this downfall………
1. Educators
2. Students
3. Curriculum
4. Govt.
5. Associations

My dear friends, I just want to clarify myself as these questions are haunting my mind since long.

Librarians continue to be knowledge professionals. Would you like to communicate to the Principal Blogger of India Librarian directly? email to .- lotus5673@yahoo.co.in .- 1816gbgv
Teachers have a very special place in the society. They have the instinct to recognize talent and nurture it. They are the creators of responsible citizens, who contribute to the society in one way or the other. Students, especially the small children, often consider their favorite teacher as the perfect person on earth.
Teachers are considered the mentors, who not only guide a person academically, but also instill moral and ethical values in him/her.
Celebrations are parts of every type of relationship. When it comes to teacher and student, Teacher's Day becomes the golden opportunity for both of them, to honor their unique bond and also appreciates teaching and the people who have opted for the profession. It is a day, when students approach their teachers and extend their sincere gratitude to them. It is the time to pay tribute to them, who have shaped up our career and imparted knowledge to their students, not just to excel academically, but also to develop their personality. I would like to offer my gratitude towards teaching community in following words---
God understood our thirst for

Knowledge, And Our Need To Be Led
By someone wiser;
He needed a heart of compassion,
Of encouragement, and patience;
Someone who would accept
The Challenge Regardless Of The
Opposition;
Someone who could see potential
And believe in the best in others . . .
So he made teachers

……..Happy Teachers Day…………..
